In these creator spotlight series, I really wanted to capture the same whimsy fans experience through their memberships and monthly mail.

For ‘The Pitch‘, I reached out to Bryson Mcbee, one of my favorite emerging animators, and briefed him on the series concept. His sticker club and monthly mail offered a natural entry point into the story behind his work. I wanted to structure his spotlight around three connected parts: his journey into animation, how the humor and heart of his animations and doodles carry into his Patreon offerings, and how fans engage with his characters through their own artwork. Together, these elements would give audiences a closer look at both his work and the community he’s built around it.

Leading production and outreach for ‘Social Vignette’, I paired Patreon creators with multimedia artists who animated over videos the creators filmed of themselves sharing their stories. For this series, I reached out to YouTube creators Answer in Progress and Dustin Vuong to interview them about their creative journeys and ways of thinking. I wanted this series to showcase who they are at their core and how each of their unique way of thinking has helped them build the huge communities of fans who connect with and support their work. To capture the essence of each creator and their works, I researched their brand aesthetics and overall style, then paired them with multimedia animators whose art style I felt corresponded well.
